The project aims not only to enable undergraduates to develop their capabilities, for future employment, further study and as citizens, but also to help them to articulate what they have learnt. This element of the project therefore is examining the ways in which students develop their attributes as graduates, both within the formal curriculum and through co-curricular activities. It is also considering ways in which achievements can be recognized..
The notion of the graduate attributes in relation to employability does not refer to a list of static or measurable skills nor to a set point when the student graduates. Rather it refers to a continual process of learning, to the ability to recognise the contextual nature of knowledge and skills, to the ability of a person to apply their knowledge and skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing situations. Thus in the context of the King’s Warwick project, employability is understood to be inextricably linked to academic learning.
